A STERN WARNING
There is a stern warning for the devil inferred in our scripture text. It is a warning for the devil not to take your sleep for granted, because He that keepeth Israel is He that keepeth thee and He will neither sleep nor slumber. If that devil wants to take advantage of your sleep to undo you; he will be making a big mistake, because you are under the watchful eyes of the God Who will neither slumber nor sleep. He watches over you while you are awake as much as while you are asleep.
His eyes run through and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong and mighty on our behalf. One reason Jesus is the right hand of God the Father, is to ensure that we get everything He died for. The shed blood of Jesus does not only guarantee your safety at day but at night also. Any power of personality that wants to take your sleep for granted to war against you, shall collide with the Rock that holds you whether it be at day or at night.
The Bible says in Isaiah 26:3; - “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in Thee”. It doesn’t matter whether you are asleep or awake; you are kept in perfect peace by the Lord. It is nothing of you, but all by His grace.

It is nothing of your efforts, but all by the finished work of Jesus, so it doesn’t really matter whether you are awake or asleep. Anyone waiting for your sleep time to hunt for your peace shall be disappointed, because the Guarantor of your peace will neither slumber nor sleep.
Anytime of the day which the devil considers safest for his exploitative activities, are usually the safest of times for all of God’s children. This is true, because where sin abounds, grace did much more abound.
Where danger abounds, God’s edge of protection round about His children is much more fortified. If there is a devil who works to reinforce against God’s chosen ones, then you can be sure that there is the God Who works to counter every and all of his reinforcements, because He will neither sleep nor slumber.
