Love the real thing
Venezuela is the country of goodbyes. Those who leave and those who stay suffer, and as a family we have devised through many video calls different ways to be able to remain united despite the distance.
My family has been physically separated for years, we are scattered in Argentina, USA, Spain, Holland and Venezuela, this year we could not unite and celebrate as we did when we were together.
My parents were fascinated with their gift and we their children were satisfied and happy to see us, I love them family they are my treasure, and although we are not together physically, every day I feel them closer in my heart.
I love these emotions in time of celebrations, ideas, meetings, alliances and shared moments that create important spaces to cheer the soul, when it comes to seal with solidarity and love in the family.
We have reached another day, a Sunday with health, with God and his wonders before our eyes... and in many parts of the world we celebrate Father's Day, and my country is no exception.
The years have passed and we (my husband and me) are in our 60s and more, ... Our expression lines give us away, and the scabs caused by time are experiences that no one can erase from this intense life of being fathers.
On a walk with my family
This weekend by the shadow in me, Maracaibo city, before one of those downpours fell, one of those that fall from the sky suddenly, and cool the bushes, but that fuel the humidity of June, we were invited to walk and have lunch outside the house.
We went to celebrate Father's Day with family and close affections using this phrase of the day "After all, the wrong road always leads somewhere" I alluded to it because we had no reservation anywhere for the occasion.
Suddenly my husband Juan, I want to eat fried fish with yucca and tostones with white cheese, the rest was easy to decide, we had it just around the corner, 15 minutes away from our house.
The beautiful and colorful Santa Rosa de Agua (Our Zulian Venice) is a tourist reference of Maracaibo.
It is a community of fishermen whose purpose for those of us who visit it is to become aware of these spaces as a means of cultural exchange decreed by UNESCO as a World Historical Architectural Heritage.
Under the beloved and energizing sun of Maracaibo we arrived in the city of the palafitos (stilt houses), a place of reunions, cold beers, local gastronomy, love, and boats for the lake tour (Lake Maracaibo).
Using time wisely is the key to listen to the echo of your heart, perpetuate in your memories where you would like to stop the time realizing your dreams, as it is achieved by me this Sunday weekend with my family.
Beautiful afternoon and continued the walk with my husband's company, there were no material gifts, balloons, no champagne, but there was love, the real kind.
I do not know what the future brings, what I do know, is that the love that unites us, will always be planted in my soul, thank you all for the best gift of Father's Day (human and fraternal warmth).
When I got home I told my husband "now I know that my home is where my heart is and my heart is where my affections are" we just hugged and thanked life for so much.
