You bring up valid points.
I rarely jump at an OTO as well. I'll be honest.
However, from someone who ran a website before I can see the value in them because they are a type of "impluse buy" and they work!
Now the key as an owner is, once that initial sale is made to someone who takes the OTO, then it's time to focus on retention. You want to make your program good enough that they will stick around. It's important to know that your buyers come in many forms. Some are cautious, like us. Others will jump right in. Catering to both is a great idea because you want and need both. :)
