Speaking as someone who was bullied a lot in middle school/high school, I am pro-Carrie all the way! Carrie is a goddess. Although it was sad that she killed the gym teacher who tried to help her.

Yes, I have seen Carnivale (although I never finished it.) Something Wicked This Way Comes by Bradbury is one of my all-time favorite novels. The 1983 movie that was released by Disney changes the plot

No it just has to be a traditional winter holiday from a northern hemisphere perspective-- Christmas, winter solstice, Hanukkah etc. Christmas in blazing heat is fine.

The basic story is good, but it could have been filmed SO much better. It's the difference between a master filmmaker like Wise or Hitchcock, and a journeyman TV director. Sorry to hear about your sister!
