For me personally, I think the ecosystem should retain hbd because it's one of the things that makes hive attractive. I understand that it might not be good for the future of hive (as it brings more hive coin when converted, thus decreasing its value) but maybe what they can do is discourage staking of hbd by increasing the interest for staked hive.
