The World-Class K11, Its Atrium and Architecture

When speaking about the best mall to visit in Hong Kong, K11 Musea is undeniably at the top of the list. Ever since its opening in 2019, it's been the talk of the town, and the best spot for shopping, art, culture, dining, and leisure in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui. This iconic art mall is the world's first and is located along the Victoria Dockside and former freight and logistic hub, Holt’s Wharf.

This photo was taken on a different day from the top of K11. The attraction below is the Avenue of Stars, Hong Kong's Walk of Fame, which I featured in my Wednesday Walk blog.

It's unique, and its world-class architecture was designed by a Harvard graduate and renowned entrepreneur, Adrian Cheng, along with more than a hundred architects, designers, artists, and environmentalists. You can check out more information about this world's first art mall here. Among all its parts, the center of attraction is the atrium.

I was wowed upon entering the amazing atrium, and it gave me the impression that I was under the Water World or in a galaxy. Whichever it is, it is truly impressive! As I dug deeper into it, I found out that the creator, Cheng, was inspired by "A Muse by the Sea," which is evidently shown in its architecture and designs.

Walls carpeted with green moss and wild plants that grow naturally and aren't artificial. There are plants at any part of the mall.

Brassy waves, white pearls, and designs like corals and tree canopies covered the skyward atrium. The ceiling with glass sheets and blue light effects lets you feel like you are inside an aquarium. A 10-meter-wide golden ball enclosed in glass panels is the centerpiece is the main attraction.

Isn't this place look like a magnificent opera house? And atop the golden glass ball can be the center stage. It was Chinese New Year when I visited the place, so a giant cherry blossom tree was potted in the center of the atrium, and hundreds or thousands of red papers were hung overhead.

Since this ambitious project is nature inspired, there are green carpets and walls and vivariums enclosing wild plants. There are statues of human figures that symbolize something nature-related, such as the half-body figure with a broccoli head. Some benches were creatively designed and inspired by animated characters, which makes them more attractive to visitors.

In the middle of the atrium is one of the most expensive restaurants in Hong Kong. But think twice before dining here. I bet the money isn't worth it, lol. It is just based on some reviews that went viral online. But if you want it for the sake of experience, then why not? There are a lot more restaurants, cafes, and bars in this mall. So you have a lot to choose from.

But if you want a one-of-kind experience and a unique mall, K11 Musea is a must-visit in Hong Kong.
