Have you ever wondered why we have shadows back when you were a kid? Because I did. At first, I was scared of it because a dark figure kept following me until I learned in school how it was formed. Oftentimes, I would stand in the light just to see my dark shadow then I would play with it. Sometimes it would span taller than me and I was amazed by it. But sometimes I was concerned about why it doesn't appear on some occasions even though there was light. As a curious cat, I tend to have a lot of questions about shadows back then.
As I grew up, there are still shadows that can't be explained and why they appear. The shadows of life: the obstacles and challenges. They are inevitable and could sometimes lose our sanity and well-being. But of course, there are reasons why they appear. We just need to acknowledge them. If there are things I am certain about why we have shadows of life, those would help us grow, learn lessons of life, and strengthen our faith.
If you feel like getting shadows of life, don't let yourself be attached to it. Always seek the light.
Those are just some thoughtful thoughts about shadows. This entry to Shadow Hunters Contest 256 was taken during my Chinese New Year holiday at Tsim Shau Tsui's Avenue of Stars. I kept seeing shadows so I opted to take my own and I thought they are perfect for this contest. The last two photos were the spots where I took the shadows.
