After having a walk in Mid-Level Central and Antique Market at Hollywood Street, I decided to walk farther until I reached Dr. San Yat-Sen Museum just around Mid-Level. I saw a signboard about such a museum while wandering around, so I opted to visit it.
The museum is located in Kom Tong Hall, one of the historic buildings and declared monuments in Hong Kong from the 20th century. This hall alone has so much to reveal about its history. The name of the hall was named after Ho Kom Tong, the former owner of the mansion. Although Dr. San Yat-Sen didn't live in this mansion, it is now a venue for his museum. That is because Dr. San Yat-Sen and Ho's family have close relations.
A brass monument of Dr. San Yat-Sen is built in front of the museum. In case you aren't aware, he is the Father of the Nation, and the first provisional president of the Republic of China. A renowned revolutionary statesman who received a worldwide reputation.

As I got inside the museum, the collections of photographs in the hallway caught my attention. These are about Dr. San Yat-Sen, his family, and things about his revolutionary campaign. By looking at all the photos, it was as if I were traveling back in time and knowing stories of the past.
Another thing that caught my attention was the architecture. The windows, wall tiles, staircase railings, and other parts are well preserved from the 20th century which gives a nostalgic atmosphere.
It's a three-story mansion with classical and Greek-style designs. It somehow gave me a splendid and traditional vibe, where a humble royal family resides. While walking on the red carpet on the upper floors, from the staircase to the hallways, I felt like it was an honor to immerse myself in such a place full of history and traditional designs to my liking.
This area on the first floor has a golden lightning feature, which suits well with its golden interior designs and creates the most classical and royally atmosphere in all parts of the mansion.
Some of the artifacts and relics related to Dr. San Yat-Sen are displayed in the museum. Some of the items displayed were donations from friends and other people, while others were remains from the old mansion carefully preserved and intact for his museum.
Meanwhile, this room consists of manuscripts, certificates, and even the election results of his provisional presidency, and the answer sheet in the Hong Kong College of Medicine for the Chinese examination.
There is an interactive room playing videos about the museum and related stories about Dr. San Yat-Sen.

I entered a room and these people almost startled me. I mean their sculptures. Knowing a little about them through the information label, they were the renowned historian in the Taiping rebellion, the Jen Yu-Wen, who are also significant in Chinese revolutionary history.
Meanwhile, on the side is no other than, Dr. San Yat-Sen itself who reminded me of a national hero in the Philippines, Dr. Jose Rizal.
It made me think, do doctors in the past resemble each other? It's probably the haircut, lol.
If you happen to visit Mid-Level Central Hong Kong someday, do stop by this museum. I just used Google Maps to locate it.
