Living from, or in yesterday is a way of living, of course! It is a metaphorical expression to express those memories that determine the current situation of some people. However, not all memories are as good as we would like.
Days ago, my mother asked me how I remember my childhood. I replied that I was happy. She then recalled one of my funny anecdotes. I remember well. I was no more than twelve years old when on a trip to the city of M茅rida. We stayed in one of the most beautiful hotels of that time of the Intercontinental chain, central with a Spectacular view of Bol铆var Peak, the highest mountain in my country and with the highest and longest cable car in the world, I think it still is.

Returning to the anecdote, during the entire five-hour drive, I asked about the pool, my intention to dive right when I arrived, my parents smiled. Upon arrival, after the registration and installation procedures in the suite, my mother gave me the bathing suit, I took a towel and ran to a desolate pool and with a jump, I discovered why no one was in it and the smiles of my parents. I could only hold out for five minutes, almost froze. After that incident! I didn't even take a shower for the duration of the stay.
My mother asked my three sisters the same question. I suppose they have laughed like me at their anecdotes. I deduce that he wanted to corroborate how well I take care of our childhood, of course! that nobody escapes from the judgments, especially the own that emanates from the conscience. I have nothing to object to my mother, on the contrary! I am immensely grateful for everything she has done and continues to do for me, part of who I am, I owe it to her, and I have no way to pay her.
All this reminds me of an adage,
"A son thou art, father thou shall be; as you have done, shall be done unto thee".
Therefore, for sure, today, I will also be in the scrutiny of my children. I will think twice before asking them the same question, just as my mother will have done. Meanwhile, I will try to live in today and not the glories of the past, if I can.
I forgot to tell you that on the occasion of that stay in Merida, we also went up the cable car, until the last station, The Mirror Peak. I remember we had hot chocolate in a beautiful facility. My sisters drank their cups, quickly and I slowly. When we came down from the cina, their lips were swollen. The hot drink that they didn't notice from the cold at the top, no doubt! Another anecdote to remember.
