I'm an expat myself and know how hard it can be but never faced challenges like you where you weren't even able to get a job.
I'm glad you took away from your experience the best and as you said, this experience has taken a lot away from you but also enriched your life in ways your couldn't have imagined. I'm sure you have grown as a person and became stronger and more independent.
