Events are a form of geocache, they have logbooks and happen during a set time frame. There are big ones and small ones and educational ones and coffee klatches.
We have met some awesome people through geocaching and the events are a great way to get to know the locals who place caches.

You can search geocaching.com for events near you from their main page. We attended one in the Denver area when traveling through on vacation a few years ago and liked the folks we met.
