'Twas the Night After Christmas

When I picked up my book

I turned to my side

And the kittens gave me a look

Turning to a blank page

And picking up a pen

I thought a moment longer

Now it's time to begin:

They say that distance

Makes the heart grow fonder

But in my case

My heart has wandered

To a place where feelings

Are no longer found

To a place of silence

In hopes to be ground

'Cause life is too short

To hang or go unchanged

Life is too short

To live estranged

'Twas The Night After Christmas

That I came to decide

That life is too short

To remain on this ride

Change paths, I will

Do what's best for me

This path I will,

Have to wait and see

What it holds, this path

Will have ups and downs

But I'm sure, this path

Ends with a crown

For now I walk by faith

And not by sight

For great things were foreseen

On that Holy Night
