With the potential steem and other tokens have to change the landscape of how we interact with money, building a personal brand may be more important than ever. I'm reading through Crushing It by Gary Vee and it's opening my eyes to the new ways people are making money online. Basically they are finding ways to make a living doing what they love by creating a personal online presence and monetizing it.
Gary Vee gives ways to find that success in our own lives, with tips on succeeding in creating a personal brand.
The reason I think it could become more important than now is that we are seeing more and more ways to generate income online. Right now you can use facebook, youtube, and instagram to make money, and you don't generate money directly through doing them. Steemit has shown that may be changing, which will mean there will be way more people generating income from blogging, vlogging, streaming, and innovating in the online creative space.
Influence is value, both online and off. Right now on steemit, we pay eachother for influence. The people with more influence are generally making more money here. A personal brand is huge in maintaining our influence. It's always cross-platform. It doesn't hurt a personal brand if dtube overcomes youtube, the personal brand is fine because the person is what is valuable. That's why we see people with followers on other social media coming here and doing really well right off the bat.
Recently I've been trying zappl and it works great, not only is it similar to twitter, but it links up with steemit. Same with dtube, dlive, and the list goes on. All our current social media platforms could be replaced by ones on the steemit platform where we get paid steem, the platform is already here, although in it's youth still. Why would anyone not want to get paid to use social media?
This slight adjustment to the concept of social media - getting paid - could rapidly increase the number of people making a living from an online presence. It creates this space for genuine creation to take place, where people can succeed being exactly the person they want to be, pursuing work that excites and rewards them.
I think my biggest hope for cryptocurrenices is to make a world where individuality thrives, where we can more easily work together on worldly problems and create an abundance that gives us all the freedom to express ourselves in pursuits of our choosing. If you read much of @taskmaster4450's blog, he's big on abundance and how steem and other tokens are a big part of this shift towards abundance. I'm starting to see how this could start to play out.
I'm starting to get the feeling that the way we interact and make money in the world could start changing much more quickly in the tokenized world. What about you?
