Hey Steemians
There are 3 different large cats found in Africa the cheetah, leopard, and lions. The cheetah is not considered one of the big 5 as seen on our fiat currency(lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo). They are the "smallest" of the big cats and are often over powered off kills by lions and hyena's. But it is one of my favorite animals.
What makes the Cheetah unique is that its claws doesnt retract into their paws much like dogs, and not felines. They need their claws for the amazing speed they can reach and are the fastest land animals alive. They also have a very flexible spine which bends to generate more speed. Although he can only keep his pace for a short while before over heating.
These shots are from a visit to the Kruger National Park, in South-Africa.
I enjoy the close up shots, what do you guys prefer? Close ups or landscapes with a subject? Let me know in the comments.
