I was fortunate to operate in small units that encouraged all - no matter the rank - to question and contribute their insights/opinions during the critical mission planning phase of an op.

Whenever I was forced to work with the large organizations, I always felt that the front line troops did not have enough "situational authority" to fully adapt in the ever-changing conditions of real world ops.

Oftentimes, the time required to get permission to do something not specifically covered in the initial mission brief cost them a lot of missed opportunities or even worse, a late QRF response (rescue).

Anyway, I'm just rambling 'bout stuff that neither impacts my daily life, nor should concern me anymore.
