Two immediate thoughts:

1. 3D soap printing. Is it viable and cost effective?

2. My mother's story of her childhood during WWII. While fleeing the Japanese in the Philippines, her family used pig fat and red clay as soap.

Nowadays, speciality red clay soap is sold at Walmart.
