As a retired veteran, Memorial Day is an especially somber day for me.

I remember all my buddies who never made it home.

And to the empty chairs in front of the open beer cans I have placed at the bar, I say, "Here's to you, my friends. You're the real heroes. See ya when I get there - hopefully. Cheers..."
