A friend had pimped up his little truck with advertising material. He planned to promote a live show/movie in Ulladulla, NSW. So, I decided to tag along.
The standard time, of approx 10 hours, actually, took several hours longer. The little truck can only muster a slower speed, was pretty heavily loaded with stage items, and found the many hills along the way a challenge.
Ulladulla is a beautiful little coastal town.
The name Ulladulla is the modern spelling of an Aboriginal word, the meaning of which is unknown. Some records show the name meaning "safe harbour" but local Aboriginal Elders dispute the meaning and point out that a harbour for boats is a modern idea. (from Wikipedia)
The day before the show we helped to set up the stage.
A large 7m x 4m LED screen was the centre piece to backdrop the band & show the movie.
The plan was to drive around the area, and nearby towns, drop some flyers and help promote the show over a few days.
It was a great experience in marketing.
The weather was sunny and warmer than Melbourne. So, no complaints from the comfort department.
The show went off without a hitch. The band plays classic ABBA songs.
It was fantastic to see, very young people, dancing along with, very old people.
Another part of my role was to check in ticket holders.
After the show we did pack down until 3am, leaving the next morning at 8am, for the long trek back to Melbourne.
