Stepping Out with Style and Accessories
This is just a fun character to draw, she is a character who looks like she has got a busy day of errands ahead of her. Don't you agree? I opened up the app and started building this figure from scratch—a neat-looking lady with her hair tied up in a bun, wearing a cream top and blue skirt, carrying a handbag in one hand and holding a small pouch or case in the other. I was doodling so fast trying to capture details in a short period of time. It was all about filling the canvas with line drawing and clean blocks of color and shape against that warm golden background. You just keep layering the forms, from the flowing sleeves and wide belt to her little red shoes and the texture on her bag, building the piece stroke by stroke until her whole posture and expression come together.
It’s such a relaxing process when you’re just focusing on shapes, colors, and bringing a simple everyday character to life on the screen.
