Today I wanted to talk about https://hive-keychain.com/, the new Hive Authentication Services, and why you should be using them.
First and foremost, access to secure, and seamless services is important to business because it allows them to keep their data and systems safe from unauthorized access. When employees have secure and seamless access to the systems they need to do their jobs, it allows the company to run more efficiently. Although you or your account may not be a business per se, it is in some ways, and these topics are critical for you as well.
But why is it so critical? Here are just a few reasons: Seamless access ensures that your data is always available when you need it. Secure access protects your data from unauthorized access. Seamless access makes it easy for you to get the information you require, when you need it. So why is secure and seamless access so important? Because it makes it easy for you to get the information you need, when you need it. And that's something we can all appreciate!
This brings us to Hive Keychain.

If you don't know, these are all awesome Hive members who have been rocking the block for a hot second. That is significant. Why is it significant? If you are building tools for a platform, you better understand it, and the community on a deep level. These developers DO understand Hive (*At least in my option).
Hive Keychain, in a nutshell, is a Hive wallet app... a key management dapp that will streamline your login to Hive Dapps that have it enabled on their apps. It started out as a browser extension and recently moved to a mobile app.
Want to send Hive or HBD, easy to do on the Hive Keychain. Want to swap between a few accounts on you run, Not a Problem in the app.
I have been a longtime user of the browser extension, but recently started to use the mobile app. The reason I started to use the mobile app is to make use of the newly released, Hive Authentication Services.

Hive Authentication Service, or just "HAS", is a way to reduce fishing attempts on your accounts and stolen keys, It also makes longing into Hive Dapps simple.
In a nutshell, with HAS you can sign transactions, and set log-in expiration dates, and keep your account keys much more secure. I won't go into the "How it works" and the back end, but if you wanted to dig more into it, great! The white papers are here.
It's no secret that we live in a dangerous world. With threats ranging from identity theft to cyber-attacks, it's more important than ever to ensure your safety and security.
Yes, there is lots of noise in the world, but in Crypto, your security is your responsibility and these Dapps / Protocols will help you with that.
This is a micro guide on how to install the Hive Keychain and use HAS.
To add your account, just go to the browser extension icon, select "Add Account".
On the next screen, select "import using "USE KEYS/PWD".
Add your username and your master key, or whatever key you want to import, such as your posting key, or active key. If you use your master key, it will import all your keys.
After you add your account, then go download Hivekey Chain on your mobile phone or tablet. https://hive-keychain.com/
When Hivekey Chain is loaded up, you will be prompted for a 6 digit password (*Please do not use 1,2,3,4,5,6).
When Hivekey chain is open, go to the 3 dots on the top right side. Select this and then use the option for "Add Account".
You can enter in your username and private key here, or import them with the QR Code.
If you do not know, I am the manager on D.Buzz, the microblog built on Hive. The amazing team of developers I have the pleasure of working with, has recently rolled out on to our testing server Next.D.Buzz, support for HAS. While we are still testing it, I will use it for the screenshots and as part of this micro guide.
Sure, setting it up on the front end may have taken a few minutes, but now you are good to go. When you log in to other apps with HAS, it is the same. You scan a QR code and approve the request. SO SIMPLE.
