I don't know what these are, so I invite the Steemit hive mind to help identify them!
The name eludes me, but I have seen these here in the western US and back in the midwest where I grew up. The seed pods under the flowers pop more satisfyingly than bubble wrap.
I'm pretty sure this is a wild rose. It is growing as a tall shrub with many small pink buds just starting to open and what appear to be dried rose hips on some of the branches.
Four petals. Pale pink and vibrant purple. No clue what they are.
OK, I actually know this one. Toadflax is an invasive species. Its flowers are similar to snapdragons. If you pinch the sides, it's like a tiny flower puppet.
