I don't think Trump is a dementia patient the way Biden seemed to be. He has lost some of the apparent vigor he had in his first term though. The left says he's going senile now. I think he's a sad old man trying to feel powerful again, and succumbing to the worst psychological influences of power.

He never has seemed to have a single guiding principle besides trying to do what he thinks is popular enough to earn some accolades from the crowd, and the people around him seem .ore than willing to manipulate that, or else set aside their previous stated principles to stay on his good side and not get fired. Tulsi Gabbard has now lost all credibility she once had as an anti-war Democrat, for example.

Trump is a populist who has lost touch with the populace that elected him twice. He now relies on a fading cult of personality, and seems to want the poll boost Bushes Sr. & Jr. got by waging war in Iraq. He knows Obama got away with these same blatant violations of the Constitution through a lapdog media and friendly government, but the internet and alternative media have grown so much since then, and he has alienated too many of his "lesser of two evils" reluctant supporters, to say nothing of us genuine skeptics of state power.
