I remember when some of my favorite sites stopped being a hub for a creative group publishing what they wanted, and started to emphasize content quantity above content quality. This was before generative AI, but the focus on output killed my interest in these sites because the human creativity which drew me was being replaced by unrefined crap being posted on a schedule even when it wasn't outsourced to content farms overseas. Humans may have been doing it, but the human touch was still gone. Now, in the aftermath of that ad-revenue-chasing, private-equity-purchased, search-engine-optimized hellscape, A.I. slop is the natural progression. Our only hope is to be genuine so those who want it can still find it.
