Yeah, separating the recreational camping and disaster preparedness mindsets is a challenge. I had hoped the poncho would allow enough air circulation, but not enough when I am exerting myself. Frogg Toggs have been recommended by others, so I'll be seriously considering that. And as for bears, I'll be looking for a site where I shouldn't need to worry about whether the bag is bear-resistant, but maybe a serious bear-resistant hard canister will be in order eventually.
