Many "influencers" seem to me more like the modern iteration of infomercial "shouty men" with a veneer of personal connection to their audience. Are they just selling their souls for sponsorship deals, or are they genuine sources of advice? Is it all about image, or real substance? Those are the questions I try to ask when I see someone trying to "influence" me, openly or otherwise.
