Xenophobia is a huge issue here, and it seems like a convenient distraction to focus blame for political issues on external factors, especially immigrants, instead of correcting bloated bureaucracy and confiscatory taxation. Besides, there are undeclared wars to fight, and the military-industrial complex needs money! Don't think about that, though. Poor foreigners, especially the brownish ones, who travel and work without paperwork are the problem! That's the real crime!
