I disagree about free markets and democracy being intertwined. The market and government are entirely different processes for satisfying wants. The former is based on production and exchange through mutual consent and respect for property rights. The latter is a territorial monopoly in violence built on a foundation of the bandwagon fallacy and false choice. Markets distribute power, but politics always trends toward centralization.
