The internet makes it easier for people to chase confirmation bias. Actual research to test and research seriously is harder. Thus, if you believe Michelle Obama is really a transgender, or the earth is flat, or the Jesuits really run a secret world government to manipulate society, or any of the other conspiracies I have seen, echo chambers abound with the illusion of multiple sources as everyone repeats the same circular arguments and links to a circular series of articles all referencing one another if they reference anything at all.
