Turning electrons or petrochemicals into heat is just transforming energy from one form into another, and new breakthroughs in this technology are unlikely. Improvements will necessarily be marginal unless something truly groundbreaking emerges - and that will not be discoverable only through late-night TV infomercials and sketchy websites.
