I think I paid $6 or so for a loaf of Dave's Killer Bread. That's as high-test as my loaves get.

How aggressive are your graphics needs? I can run GIMP for basic editing on a pretty low-spec machine. GPUs are also outrageous, but depending on the slot in your machine, (PCIe, probably) a decent functional non-gaming-or-crypto-mining-optimized card should be fairly cheap. If there's a built-in GPU on the motherboard, you could try that. But if it's an integrated GPU on the fritz... ouch.
