Carjackings seem like a rare thing here in the US, at least where I live. I tried to look up actual numbers, but a cursory search led to paywalled sites and data mixing all forms of auto theft together. Where I live, people tend to have... shall we say, cordless hole punchers in sufficient quantity and carried with sufficient regularity to make theft difficult. Especially if the intended victim is in a pickup or serious SUV.
