As a Christian anarchist (for lack of a better term) in a society molded by nationalists and other flavors of paternalism and authoritarianism, I can see humanity as a mass of individuals equally suffering under the influence of their local despots, differing in degree rather than kind. I don't believe power is something to be seized, but something to withhold. Withdraw consent to be governed by these tyrannical warmongers, these busybody police state control freaks, and these greedy plunderers who desire wealth without voluntary exchange and consent. Until people let go of the fantasy that governments represent them or can be wielded for a "greater good," we cannot progress.
