I haven't done much fishing. My dad had an old aluminum boat, maybe 12', and an older outboard motor, but it was a lot of work to load it. He didn't have a trailer, so it had to go in the bed of his truck. Fishing was arare, and he didn't seem to care for fishing from shore or a dock. When we moved west, it got sold and left behind. He never took up fishing again. As such, I have little experience. I do have a telescoping pole and some basic tackle I could add to my backpacking kit. I'd prefer fishing for food, though, not catch-and-release.
