I have seen people cite the infestation of leftists in the education industry as evidence that leftism is correct because it is popular with the education industry, and they're smart. When I pointed out it was an appeal to authority and popularity rather than a valid argument for their philosophy, I was ridiculed. Seems like the education system is working exactly as intended.
