The ABC/NBC/CBS cartel was bad, but modern cable news is far worse. I think they do play a role in glamorizing these mass murders in the eyes of other potential mass murderers. The news media is more media than news, and they aren't exactly responsible guardians of an informed public like they pretend to be.
