People tend to argue that objecting to government is wrong because it's been somehow proven to be an effective means to achieve the ends people want. However, government is fundamentally just a territorial monopoly in violence. Monopolies always promote waste and abuse. This is basic economics. When consumer choice is restricted, when competition is forbidden, and especially when participation is mandatory, there is no incentive to provide quality goods and services at low cost.
Government consumes at least 50% of all economic production, but it fails to provide good education, good security, good arbitration, or anything else people actually want. Instead, we get a legal system with so many laws that everyone is a felon if anyone decides to look hard enough, every single thing you do requires government permission, and government enforcers are almost entirely above the laws they enforce.
Calling it a "democracy" or a "republic" does not alter this, and the concept of representative government is absurd. There is no agent/principal relationship between a politician and the people who voted for him, much less the people who voted against him or did not participate in the "democratic process" at all. You can't delegate to someone else an authority you do not have, yet government claims to exercise every power it has on our behalf despite the fact that everything government does would be criminal if done by you or me. Democracy is not a virtue, it is just the catastrophic manifestation of the bandwagon fallacy.
"But there oughtta be a law," you say. Not only do criminals murder, steal, rape, vandalize, etc. right now despite the laws, but on top of that, government agents commit those same crimes against us and enforce the innumerable bad laws that create a violent black market to fuel even more crime. The politicians are above the laws they pass, and there isn't a damn thing you can really do about it within the political system. True law is discovered by reason, not imposed by arbitrary political dictate. If there is no victim, there is no crime. Justice requires restitution to the victim, not arbitrary imprisonment of the aggressor at the expense of others.
The solution: Vacate the state. The revolution begins between your ears. Stop making excuses for government violence. Build a better system. Since government operates through violence, using violence fuels it. Hunting cops, bombing government buildings, or disrupting the lives of your neighbors by shutting down traffic supports the government and excuses more of its expansion. Don't use their tools if you want to build something better. Instead, build the underground gray market economy. Live without begging for permission. Find ways to undermine the State while showing its corruption and incompetence. Build decentralized, competing solutions to government-monopolized services. Be free in spite of the threats we face.
