First of all...thanks for the mention and for including me in your Tuesday Small Talk project.
What do I do to turn things around when having a bad day...?
Well, I have to admit that it's not always that easy, but what I normally try to do as soon as I realize that I'm getting frustrated or pulled in by some overwhelming problem, I stop whatever I'm doing and walk away. Go for a walk or do something completely different. It helps me to clear my head and by the time I come back, the solution to the problem will often stare me right in the face.
I also try to realize that there are other people with much bigger challenges and problems. When we face difficult days or circumstances, one of our first responses are "why do I always have to get stuck with this?" or "why me?". I then try to ask myself "well, why not me?" I then try to look at it as a challenge. If I can overcome that situation I might learn something from it and I will become a stronger person.
I believe we will never be challenged beyond our abilities. Some days it is harder to go through those challenges than other days, but when this happens, I try to remind myself that I'm going through it, I'm not stuck in there.
