I need to face the computer daily, My work demands me to use it every day. I use it from 8 am to 5 pm for work; 5 pm to 9 pm for sidelines and 9 pm to 12 am for watching a movie until I fell asleep.

I Work from Home as a Social Media Manager, I create posts for my client and post them daily. After that, I do some of my side works for other clients, create a video for my Youtube channel, and write some content here in Hive.

17 years ago when I was still a Graphics Designer, I had temporary blindness because of too much exposure to a computer's bright screen.

I've been blind for about ten to twenty minutes. I don't know if you can say it is blindness because all I see is white and nothing else.

At first, it freaked me out, but then I try to calm myself, I decided to go under my desk because it is dark in there. I closed my eyes hoping my sight will come back.

after I few minutes, I opened my eyes, and now my vision is not completely out, I can see something now but it is so foggy, it is so blurry that I can't distinguish what I'm looking at.

This gave me hope, I closed my eyes again and rested them. A couple of minutes later I checked my vision again. now it's better than before, still foggy but now I can see colors aside from white. I decided to rest more until my whole vision was restored.

I got scared that day, but I don't know what to do, what I did is I lowered the brightness of my monitor, at that time computers don't have warm light settings for our eyes yet.

After that incident, I always take a 10 to 30 minutes break to rest my eyes, I always take a nap after every office break. My computer screen was also dimmed and zoomed in so my eyes won't get stressed.

Now because of new technology, we can set the temperature of our screen so that it won't hurt our eyes too much. The eyes are very important, Since I've experienced being blind for a moment, I don't force my eyes anymore, even though I work long hours in front of the computer, I make sure that I always take a break to rest my eyes.

Also always turn on your room light when you are working, if your room is dark, your eyes will get stressed easily from the light that is coming from your monitor.

If possible, you can buy those new technology blue light glasses that help you sleep better after a day's work. Scientifically, it doesn't decrease the amount of stress in your eyes, but since it can help you sleep better, I think it is still good because sleeping is the way for our eyes to get rest.

also try putting something on your table like a small plant, with this, you always have a reason to look at something besides your computer's monitor.

Take it from me, not being able to see is very scary. Take care of your eyes, before its too late.
