Wasn't that the case with many non government currencies also?

Sounds kinda "familiar" to some events from the not so distant past that many should be familiar with, not to mention all the "trading platforms" that said "and it's gone" to a few million people out there, not to mention the pumping and dumping of various things out there.... and all in the hands of a few people, far from "decentralized" as some keep stating.
