That was "a long time ago" and it confirms that even back then, when the tech was no where near anything out there today, we as a nation were not able to "defend" ourselves on our own turf, with the human resources available.
I dare say, that since the pollies from the 70's literally cut off the main branch of our defence infrastructure. The basic know how/education sector, namely what was once upon a time "The Cadets" (nothing like what it is today) we have even less able citizens with the necessary know how in any SHTF situation. No, I am not talking about "weapons handling" only. That is only one very small segment that Hollywood seems to always dramatize and "scare peoples feelings" with. Ohhh the world we live in.
Now my "feelings" are hurt too! (sarcasm)
