Mate, the 100+ witnesses that were Steem witnesses are now Hive witnesses.
The funds being utilized from the allocated account are minute compared to the spending that was (and is) going on with Steem.
The idiot talking in that "interview" has proven that s/he hasn't got a bloody clue about anything. In fact the person ADMITS IT!
There are no facts or figures given except for lump sum figures which have no line item specs or anything.
It is typical.
As far as decentralization goes, the fact that 100+ witnesses forked and made Hive is living proof of decentalization and the fact that no blockchain should be held captive to anything, including but not limited to DPoS.
Hive is ALIVE!
and by the standards set, this entire concept and endeavour have a very long and interesting journey ahead of it in the coming years.
That is far more than what any PoW or Steem chains out there can state for themselves.
