It all really depends on the location.

Right before selling our house (former home) in a former eastern block country, I made sure that everything I had was left in good hands.

Since then, I am somewhat of a minimalist as far as things go.
I do not have any intention of hoarding again.

Plus, what I learned was that the basic needs need to be covered both immediate and long term.

Which is why any list I put together for anyone is always a basic common sense list + a .22L plan B list.

Which is why I would for example recommend a rifle that uses the same round as an AK in the eastern block nations.
Or an AK if it is legally possible ;)

As for the Glock 19, will always endorse it, had one for years, used it many a time in various conditions and as far as I'm concerned, it does the job it is designed for, without any fear of failure. (I am BIAS).

Have to stipulate, before moving, I was somewhat of a hoarder and only realized it once I had to take care of the items I possessed. That was literally a rude awakening to the reality of needs vs wants.

I guess we all learn things as we go through life, but handing over some of them was literally heart breaking as some were more so "very personal memories".
