Yes, you are right about the value of adding data/posts to a chain, clearly see your point. Yet there is great value for each front end in backlinks too.

So cross posting is not all bad, in fact it can be used for the good of all involved.

As I said, I need more time to think about it all, see where people are heading, are they being constructive and using the new situation to their advantage or are they simply destructive and negative. Too early to tell.
