As far as knowing about things goes, it really is up to the individual to stay informed.

The problems arise when the information flow is not effective.

Many a time, even with inadequate forms of information flow, or even if lets say there were to be 101 means of being able to stay informed about everything about everyone and everything relative to Steem, the individual just doesn't bother to stay informed.

So we end up with a lot of "OMG" and "WTF" reactions.

The only comparison that can be made is that of what all is happening in a country and its voters.

Ask the average Jo or Josephine Blo out on the street about what policies are being discussed in their national Congress or Parliament, and I bet 99.99% of them do not know.

Ask them who their state reps are? and maybe the percentage gets to about 2% who maybe know some names.

Although not a perfect parallel/example in many ways, but as far as the individuals attempts to follow the scenes goes, it is a reasonable comparison.

Likewise, these people vote.

Same thing again.

How many times people say "their vote can't make a difference", ?

Now compare that to Steem. Same principle.

and yes, it is all a two way street.

No pointing fingers or casting the first stone, as each person has their share of the responsibilities at all levels of any ecosystem.
