My brain's default mode when I wake up is one of anxiety. It starts jumping forward to future events and scenarios where things will go wrong and then starts planning and strategizing and worrying.
One of the best ways I've found to interrupt that program is to move my body. It's like hitting the cancel button on that negative spiral, using the breath and body awareness to bring myself into the present moment, and have gratitude for everything that I have. One of the things I'm most grateful for is my body. It allows me to experience this physical realm, feel so many interesting and enjoyable sensations and express my love and experience to others.
This is a quick sequence of stretches that helps to activate my digestion (something I've struggled with for years) and lower my heart rate so that I can start the day with a clear head, intention and gratitude.
Stay tuned ;)
