What if someone made a SocialismCoin which constantly adjusts balances to take from the "rich" and give to the "poor"?

I think if someone tried this, the following things would happen...

  • Nobody would use it for fear of having their money taken away.
  • People who tried to use it would want to scatter their money to many wallets in order to avoid having their money taken...and potentially to get money from large wallets.

I've been thinking a lot lately about the amorality of technology. Technology is neither moral or immoral, but the best and worst applications of a technology must be taken into consideration when considering the morality of creating/proliferating that technology. There are some technologies which have mostly virtuous applications and there are other technologies which have mostly sinister applications.

I've also been wondering...are there ways of tweaking technological innovations so as to remove immoral applications or will people always find a way to misuse "good" technology? This is my question...

Could we possibly make a currency with rules which incentivize hard work while simultaneously providing for the weak and poor?

Could we do so in a way that would cause people to accept and adopt this currency?
