Hello Friends

Otefe Steemit Campus Invasion took Saturday, Feb. 3rd by 10 am at Otefe Community Hall.
Lots of Preparations were put in place to ensure the success of the meetup.

It is very important to note that Steemit is more than just a platform you come for the reward. It is a community.


The few weeks I spent preparing for the meetup has proven that we come to Steemit for the reward but we stay for the community.
Joining Steemit has brought some amazing Steemians across my way. The likes of @destinysaid, @kinggolo, @Penauthor, @jofomaja, @dlio, @chrisval, @violed25th, @decoreign, @gbenga, @illuminatus, @ehiboss, @mimy, @pearl have gone the extra miles making sure the meetup.

Day 1 Prep.

@kinggolo, @russiamarv, and @violed25th come all the way from the University of Benin to support in the publicity in Delta State Polytechnic Otefe Oghara.

They had to spend the night over at my house. It was a nice time together with these great minds. We discussed on how to they intend to impact lives using Steemit as the medium

Imparting and Giving As You Earn
If there is anything I have learned from the Nigeria Community, we serve the purpose of impacting lives through Steemit as they earn. I became more inspired seeing the good works of @gbenga.

I woke up very early as early as 5 am ensuring I start prep on time. I knew that day will be so tedious so I knew I won't be able to go to school. I spent all day till 7 pm making frames for the different banners.

I really didn't want to hire a carpenter for several reasons. I really wanted my steemit pals like @kinggolo, @violed25th, @russiamarvis to have a view of how my school looks like. The previous time i went to Uniben was an exciting moment. I was taken round the entire schools. I went to the school of Arts,Law,Agriculture and even to their eatery called BUKA (food court). I wanted to reciprocate their nice gesture and care towards me during stay at Uniben.
I also did not want to hire a carpenter because my dad has taught me to be very industrious. I knew the different procedures to make a good frame we will be needing to get the job done. It was very tedious but we tackled the job like a lion going after its prey.

I specially want to say a big thank you @russiamarvis. He took the job like a personal job. Even when we were all tired he stood like bull by the horns till the job came to completion.

When we were working,@destinysaid came and joined us. He refreshed us with snacks. I call him ajebo always which he never agrees to. Although he contributed his own quarter in the job. With was a nice time all together having steemians all around you.

BRINGING THEM TOGETHER

During the preparation, we went out for publicity that same day. It was an awesome experience. We had lots of positive responses from students all over the school. We went to classes that was lecture free.

In one of the classes, we met a guy who was already a steemian. @efam joined steemit a month before the meet up prep. He felt happy to see fellow steemians like him publicizing. We took pictures together as we exchange pleasantries with him. He is really an amazing person.

Joining steemit has really changed alot of things about me. It really feel good bringing people to the platform knowing it will go a long way to change their lifes.
