other than qualified teachers, like teachers who would be allowed by their certifications to teach in their home countries, i feel like almost all teachers over here are seriously wasting their time. The only way to make something of a career of it over here is that the job that gives you the work permit is your side hustle, and the job you do online is your main source of income. That's not great for the kids but the salaries are just too crap to do it any other way. Thailand has enjoyed 30 years of eager low-level staff in a revolving door sort of way, but you get what you pay for. Most of these "teachers" have failed at other sorts of employment and are just looking for something they can turn up for hungover every day. This is sad but true.
