I am in the USA and here you do not need to go to an emergency room or to your doctor to get the vaccine. I can't answer for every single area, but most cities and counties have set up multiple locations for folks to get their vaccine, that does not cost them anything. If a person is not insured, they will not be billed. If a person has insurance, the insurance will be billed and the majority of insurances pay, as they get compensated too. If an insurance for any reason does not pay 100%, the patient will not be billed the difference either.
Since you do not need to go to your doctor or an emergency room to get the vaccine, if you do that, you are acquiring the extra costs unnecessarily.
