With only 3-6 months, Chaos Legion will be removed from the Modern format. The Modern gameplay will now be based around the Rebellion set with the new upcoming core set. Summoner tactics will be the norm. Multiple Element Summoners would bring new combinations of elements to the battles. And Items and Spells might be implemented in the next core set (fingers-crossed). So the question is, why am I considering on buying Maxed Chaos Legion set? Am I going to Wild format? Am I going to do some arbitrage on Chaos Legion cards? Let me expound on the reasons and please remember, this is not financial advice.
Reasons on Buying a Maxed CL Set
Chaos Legion Set Price Is The Lowest It Has Ever Been
According to Splintercards, the Total Set Value of Chaos Legion Regular Foil Set is around 700 USD. This is relatively affordable considering how expensive it used to be during its first inception. Of course it might get cheaper in the next few months. But with some players proposing some Chaos Legion cards burning event, this might go up a bit. And surely, the Splinterlands team would do some intervention on how to increase the value of the Chaos Legion set. Even if just minimal.
I Don't Have To Rent
It is true that renting Chaos Legion cards is cheap. And if you are at the highest leagues, you can be able to ROI from your rentals. As I am not that good of a player, I am just barely getting some extra SPS and GLINTs from my overall rentals. I figured while Chaos Legion is still in Modern, I would use it as long as it takes and just focus on other things like SPS rentals.
Focus on SPS Rent and Accumulation
With card rentals out of the way, I can just focus on renting SPS and slowly accumulate Staked SPS in my account. I could even increase my rent to 200K SPS in order to get more GLINTs and SPS.
Build My Rebellion Cards
As I enjoy more GLINTs, I could steadily upgrade my Rebellion Reward Cards and spend some extra $$$ on Rebellion Core cards. I know that Rebellion is the future of Modern format. And I am an active Modern player. I would still be actively collecting Rebellion cards as to remain where I am and probably be a more competitive player. Watch out Champion League!
Might Go To Wild Format
This option is still available for me in case things above didn't work out. There is no shame in Wild format. Most of the players I know are also playing there - manually or through bots. And I am not hating on Wild either. This is what's good about Splinterlands, everything is on the table. Every player has a choice in how they want to play the game.
Land
Speaking of choices, I could also stake my CL cards on land. I don't have a land right now. And I sold my common Jungle because of necessity. But I figured these cards can be staked on land and I can buy the cheapest out there. I just hope by that time, Items and Spells are implemented and I can enjoy the fruit of my land.
I wonder where you are now, my Jungle :(
Closing
So here you have it. These are the reasons why I am planning to buy a maxed Chaos Legion set. Do you think I am doing a good decision? If not, what can you advice me to do? Please comment down below. I am in dire need of your wisdom.
